EDPS Diversity Training ProjectThis user testing targeted Graduate Students in the U of U Education Department.
The User Testing question set (below) focuses on Formative Assessment for Users, and Level II Assessment of the interface design. The question sets were administered immediately following Low-Fi Prototype testing, and adapted to use following the Diversity Project--final version. The questions are designed to elicit rich feedback from users, while avoiding short answers and simple yes/no responses. |
Canvas Support Template-QMThis public site contains Modules for Student Support in alignment with the QM Quality Matters Rubric.
Numerous content pages include hyperlinks to Canvas Guides, leveraging existing user tools & tutorials. The Student-facing module is intended to be copied into active Canvas Courses to meet 10-16 of the QM Rubric Components related to navigation, tech support, and student resources. The Instructor-facing Module is a collection of Pedagogical (Andragogical) Best Practices for teaching online, as well as tips for Canvas LMS technology tool to maximize Canvas usage. This Canvas course site is continually updated as a support tool, and is used to inform the Canvas Community Forums for feature requests, complaints, and bug reporting. User Testing Questions-Sample
These basic questions are designed as open-ended responses for users to report authentic, rich data for user experience/HCI Human Computer Interaction reports and re-designs. The example below was used as the basis for the EDPS Diversity project (2016.)
Agile, ADDIE & SAM: A Quick Reference Guide
ADDIE: Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate. This is the waterfall approach. One phase leads to the other. May be repeated, though the goal is to get it right the first time.
SAM: Successive Approximation Method. This iterative process is like river eddy where the loop is small and agile. Analyze--> Design-->Develop. Rinse and repeat for as long as necessary.
Agile: An alternative to the drawn-out, formal, and clunky discussion procedures of ADDIE. Iterative and incremental process are combined for speed, avoiding hangups and speculation about what might be delivered. This process is like the frog in the river, free to leap to any rock at any time, back and forth.
